About the Artist

Bev has studied fine art at the University of Kentucky and at West Dean College, Chichester, England, as well as through years of studio study. While residing in Kentucky, Bev founded two art schools and was a visiting instructor in Shanghai, China.  While in Idaho the last two years, she taught regional workshops in tapestry weaving, silk painting, and other fiber techniques.

Her diverse art education spans over 30 years, with weaving instruction at University of Kentucky under Arturo Alonza Sandoval, followed by tapestry self-study, conference workshops, and a program of advanced tapestry techniques at West Dean College, Chichester, England, under Pat Johns, Master Designer-Weaver.

he has received many awards in tapestry and other art media including silk painting, coiled basketry, and contemporary stitchery. She has instructed art and taught workshops in a variety of disciplines at galleries and conferences in several states independently and at the regional college level. In 2018 her tapestry "A Summer Day on Planet Earth" was juried into the international exhibit "Fantastic Fibers", one of 36 tapestries selected out of 378 entries from 11 countries.
